Advocacy
Young Women's Internships

Justice for Girls
offers outreach legal advocacy to teenage girls in poverty.
The BC Public Interest Advocacy Centre provides legal
supervision to the advocate. Justice for Girls does both individual and systemic advocacy on behalf of teenage girls
(under 19 years) in response to poverty, male violence,
human rights abuses, and criminalization.
Our systemic advocacy work stems directly from our advocacy with individual girls. Justice for Girls works at local, provincial, national, and international levels to promote human and equality rights of teenage girls in poverty.
The advocacy program works to address breaches of girls' rights within criminal justice, child welfare, mental/health, and educational institutions. The advocate's role is to challenge individual and systemic practices that are contrary to law (domestic and international), oppressive, unreasonable, unjust or discriminatory.
If you would like more information about the program or are in need of advocacy please contact us at either advocacy@justiceforgirls.org or call 604-689-7887.

Justice for Girls offers
internships to low-income or formerly street-involved young
women aged 16-24. This program gives young women experience in
social policy analysis, community development, public
education & communications, clerical duties, court
monitoring and advocacy. The program also provides
opportunities for educational upgrades and assists young
women to find employment and/or further education following their work experience. For more information email internships@justiceforgirls.org or call 604-689-7887.
